Topics of the week: Water, Magnesium,
Progesterone, Diet Issues, Acne, etc.
Hello Everyone,
Yesterday I received Dr. Ray Peat's Newsletter in the mail. It was about water, hormones, etc.
It is very scientific. Though basically he said, not everyone needs so much water as many of us constantly repeat. In fact, too much water can be making some people ill. There is no easy formula. Though he suggested we listen to our bodies and not the textbooks. In particular, people who drink too much water and are hypothyroid, need to be most concerned about drinking too much liquid.
Dr. Peat emphasizes the need for salt and magnesium in his newsletter, especially for people showing signs of thyroid problems (which is a large percentage of people). Dr. Peat reminds me in this letter of why I am so often suggesting adding liquid minerals high in magnesium, and even Celtic Salt to drinking water.
For those of you with insomnia, Dr. Peat says eating something salty before bed can often help.
Often when I feel fatigued, or I have tight muscles, or I can't sleep, I take 20-30 drops of Bionativus Mineral Concentrate in a half a glass of water.
I do this on hot days too when I have perspired a lot. I also do it with Celtic Salt. I mix it right in the water. And I use lots of extra Celtic Salt on my food.
For those of you who feel tired all the time, and especially those of you with low thyroid - who are drinking lots of water and never seem to get
enough: try drinking a lot less, and adding more whole sea salt and magnesium rich mineral concentrate to your water and diet.
Dr. Peat's newsletter also reminds me of the miracle of Progest E . It helps so many conditions.
Please read Dr. Peat's articles on 'progesterone'
in my health library. Use the Library search tool to bring up his articles. There is a wealth of information there. I receive so many emails and phone calls from women of all ages letting me know how much this product helped them. The Quantum Adaptogen Complex also helps tremendously with hormone imbalance problems.

DIET ISSUES
"Hi Timothy, I have a question for you, my daughter 28 and is very health conscious, she eats fruits vegetables lots of beans and tofu for her diet and doesn't normally touch sugar. She is saying that she is having a real problem with break outs everyday especially when it's her cycle time, any suggestions?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as she is getting married next year and doesn't want to walk down the aisle with acne."
My comments:
So many people believe that they are "health conscious" because they avoid things like meat and milk products, and instead eat soy food, lots of fruits and vegetables, beans, etc. To me, this is not 'health conscious' at all. This sort of diet leads to low thyroid and high estrogen situations. It causes the body to become weak and ill. It also leads to symptoms like acne, skin breakouts, obesity, chronic fatigue, heart disease, cancer, and much more. It also leads to trying more extreme diets, over-exercising and taking toxic medications, not to mention wasting money on tons of 'health supplements'.
The American Diet has gone through so many changes and is very confused at this point. It has been heavily influenced by corporate propaganda and greed, as well as by a large dose of medical stupidity and greed - with compliance and legal support by the government - due to the major influence of corporate lobbyists and big money that pays for political campaigns.
The girl spoken about in the email needs to cut out the tofu (and all soy) and cut out most all the beans. These produce a high estrogen situation and inhibit the thyroid gland. She also needs to eat very little fruit.
Number One, she needs a diet that supplies adequate healthy proteins, minerals and fats. Yes, healthy fat, lots of it. Fat from olive oil, coconut oil, meat of all kinds, raw cheese, raw milk, organic eggs (whites and yolks!!), salmon, etc.
Secondly, she can eat a wide variety of vegetables, and some complex carbohydrates. She can have some fruit, but small amounts. And it must be whole fruit, and not the sweet ones. A variety of berries would be a good choice.
She may very well benefit on some key natural supplements to turn around her situation, though here I am only commenting on her foundational dietary needs.
For the most part, people in this country are ill and overweight because they have lost contact with a healthy basic diet sense. Instead of listening to their bodies, they are listening to advertisers (and the articles in health magazines, and many health practitioners who are teaching on the radio and writing books, are all about advertising for certain products and companies. It is often so cloaked the average person does not realize it). People are being marketed junk like low fat foods, and being scared off from eating healthy organic meat and raw milk products based on misinformation campaigns.
My advice is to buy from small, local farmers if you can.
Find raw milk products. Eat grass-fed organic meat. Eat chicken that was raised outside in the field. Get farm fresh eggs, or at least organic. Eat the whole egg. Don't overcook the meat or eggs. Though of course cook poultry thoroughly.
A great cookbook is Sally Fallon's Nourishing Traditions.
You can find it on my web book page. There are other good cook books too. If you know of one, send me a link.
I can check it out and share your recommendations in future letters.
Many stores now carry raw cheese. I prefer goat milk over cow. Though raw cow cheese is fine.
When buying animal products, choose organic.
It does not make sense to say 'it costs too much'.
What costs too much is getting ill, doctors, medications (most of which are useless, toxic and cause greater illness) and health insurance.
Some major medical insurance with a high deductible makes sense. But health plans that cause people to run to the doctor rather than eat and live in healthy ways, do not make sense. Most everyday illnesses get better on their own with a little help from home remedies or natural supplements. People make a lot of unnecessary trips to the doctor and take medications that are not needed and not helpful.
It is a very rare case indeed that can benefit from a prescription or over the counter medicine.
There are times they are helpful, but again, it is the exception.
My daughter is 5 1/2. She has never had a single medication of any kind. Not even Tylenol. There is not a single over-the- counter medicine in my house. I have not taken or used any kind of medicine in many years. Today we have such great access to natural remedies. We are truly blessed. We do not need the toxic chemicals anymore.

Has any doctor you know ever said anything as intelligent as this? Question everything your read, hear, and especially if a doctor says it. Do your own research. Take responsibility for your own life and health.
For those of you whom don't know, I am not a doctor. I am mostly self-taught over 30 years. I had some great mentors whom I owe so much to, mostly Dr.
Raymond Peat.
