Quote of The Month:
"Youth"
Youth is not a time of life. It is a state of mind; it is a temper of
the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions, a
predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for
adventure over love of ease.
Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years; people
grow old only by deserting their ideals. Years wrinkle the skin,
but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, doubt,
self-distrust, fear and despair--these are the long, long years
that bow the head and turn the growing spirit to back to dust.
Whether seventy or sixteen, there is in every being's heart the
love of wonder, the sweet amazement at the stars and the starlike
things and thoughts, the undaunted challenge of events, the unfailing
childlike appetite for what next, and the joy and the game of life.
You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt; as young as
your self-confidence, as old as your fear, as young as your hope,
as old as your despair.
So long as your heart receives messages of beauty, cheer, courage,
grandeur and power from the earth, from man and from the Infinite,
so long you are young.
When the wires are all down and all the central place of your heart
is covered with the snows of pessimism and the ice of cynicism, then
you are grown old indeed and may God have mercy on your soul.
By Ulman, an American poet

OPENING LETTER:
Hello Everyone,
The days are getting shorter and colder.
All the leaves are almost off the trees, and I would like to run away to
the Caribbean! Seriously, I am so tired of winters. I dream of moving
to a warmer climate. Does anyone live in Shangri La and have any
ideas where I should move to?
As always, I write this newsletter to share with all of you what I have come
across on my journey toward better health of mind, body and soul.
I hope you enjoy this month's newsletter, please be sure
to keep emailing me your comments.
Many blessings,
Timothy J. Long

A DEAD HORSE
Dakota tribal wisdom says that when you discover you are riding
a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount. However, in
business we often try other strategies with dead horses,
including the following:
1. Buying a stronger whip.
2. Changing riders.
3. Saying things like "This is the way we always have ridden this horse."
4. Appointing a committee to study the horse.
5. Arranging to visit other sites to see how they ride dead horses.
6. Increasing the standards to ride dead horses.
7. Appointing a tiger team to revive the dead horse.
8. Creating a training session to increase our riding ability.
9. Comparing the state of dead horses in today's environment.
10. Change the requirements declaring that "This horse is not dead."
11. Hire contractors to ride the dead horse.
12. Harnessing several dead horses together for increased speed.
13. Declaring that "No horse is too dead to beat."
14. Providing additional funding to increase the horse's performance.
15. Do a CA Study to see if contractors can ride it cheaper.
16. Purchase a product to make dead horses run faster.
17. Declare the horse is "better, faster and cheaper" dead.
18. Form a quality circle to find uses for dead horses.
19. Revisit the performance requirements for horses.
20. Say this horse was procured with cost as an independent variable.
21. Promote the dead horse to a supervisory position.

SENT IN BY A READER:
A Conversation with God
I asked God to take away my pain. God said, No. It is not for me
to take away, but for you to give it up.
I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. God said, No.
Her spirit was whole, her body was only temporary.
I asked God to grant me patience. God said, No. Patience is a
byproduct of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is learned.
I asked God to give me happiness. God said, No. I give
you blessings. Happiness is up to you.
I asked God to spare me pain. God said, No. Suffering draws
you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.
I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said, No. You must
grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.
I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. God said, No.
I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things.
I asked God to help me LOVE others, as much as he loves me.
God said...Ahhhh, finally you have the idea.

SOME MORE HEALTH TIPS:
***Call your local water department and ask if fluoride is being added
to your water, if it is, give them your complaint, and buy yourself a
water filter to remove the fluoride. We carry Sun Pure. It removes the
fluoride and other undesirable chemicals and toxins in your water.
It is a lot less expensive than buying bottled water, and the water
is purer too.
***Showering in chlorinated water: In a twenty minute hot shower,
your body can take in the equivalent amount of chlorine that is
found in eight glasses of chlorinated water. Asthma can be caused
by this chlorine, as well as skin and hair problems. It is very inexpensive
to buy a shower filter and it is easy to install and maintain. Moonlight
Health carries a very good one. For a complete catalog of all our products,
email your complete address and name to orders@longnaturalhealth.com
***If you have inflammation in the body instead of taking aspirin which
causes internal bleeding, take Bromelain instead. Or use Therazyme Trauma.
For instance, this works very well for ulcerative colitis.
***Have a sweet tooth? Switch to Stevia, a natural herbal sweetener that
does not raise your blood sugar. Actually it helps to balance and correct
it.
Diabetics have reported being helped by adding stevia daily to their diets.
