Always Have to Urinate

Always Have to Urinate - Anna - New Jersey
I have been having an ongoing problem and can't seem to find relief. I always feel as though I have to urinate, even when I know my bladder is not full. I go to the bathroom constantly. After I go, I instantly feel as though I have to go again. I can hold my urine, but it is uncomfortable, naturally. I spoke to my doctor and he said I have overactive bladder (but I only have one symptom of overactive bladder), and prescribed detrol. I have never taken it. I am afraid of it. I am too young to be on detrol! I also have an irritable bowel and am wondering how taking detrol would affect it. Does anybody else have this probelm? Do I have an overactive bladder? What can I do?!

Re:Always Have to Urinate - Brandie - OK  [bmycah28@yahoo.com]
have you looked into intercysital cystitis(??spelling??) My sister suffers from this and is also young. She describes everything you do. She is now off of the meds and taking a natural supplement. Email me if you would like and I will find out what she is taking for sure.

Re:Always Have to Urinate - Lisa H -
Sometimes frequent urinations could be a sign of pregnancy!

Re:Always Have to Urinate - Timothy Long -   [timothylong@longnaturalhealth.com]
Over active bladder and irritable bowel do have a common cause. It is the inability to break down sugars and carbohydrates properly. Cutting down on these foods, as well as using a digestive enzyme like Therazyme Pan will most likely help tremendously. I would also use Irb for irritable bowel, and Urt for the urinary problem for a few months. I have seen this approach help a lot of people. There are other things you can do as well, but this is the foundation.

Anna, I have the EXACT same symptoms that you do and I currently take Elmiron for interstitial cystitis-it does not help at all. I do not know how old this post is, but I hope you see it and tell me what you are doing now to help yourself. I had a cesearean section and my problems began there, but my doctors have said again and again that it has nothing to do with it. I cannot take it anymore though, I am only 21 and the urge to urinate and IBS runs my life!

Hi Anna, i have recently started getting the same one sympton as you. I am constantly needing the tiolet and after going its not long before i need to go again. The other problem is the urgency of it- I sometimes get scared that i will wet myself! I hate it at night also as i sometimes have to sleep on the loo, as its so constant. I am also only 21 years old and its starting to take over my life. I first got it a month and a 1/2 ago and now i have it again, usually lasting about a week! I think it started after i went to have an STI test. I was all clear but when they carry out the test, i am not sure whether any bacteria from the swab could have entred my urethra? My doctor was seriously no help and kicked me out of his office within a minute- (lazy twat!) I have looked on the internet and i am now trying to drink moderate amounts of water and glass a cranberry ervy morning. Also its advised that you are careful when 'wiping' yourself after the tiolet, urinating when you have urge (not holding it in) and also using lubricants during sex and going tiolet before and after sex and emptying the whole bladder. Ill see how i get on and if you hear of any cures let me know. x

I have spoken to my GP about the problem which effects my sleeping pattern which i was given tablets that never seem to work , i find the problem more of a pain for i can never go to the cinima's , this has taken over my life for there seems to be no ending to the feeling of needing to urinate , i have asked my Gp if there is any tipe of operation to provent the problem to which he answered there is no such cure and that i would just have to get used of the condition

Re:Always Have to Urinate - Janelle - PA  [je7086@ship.edu]
I am so glad I am not the only one feeling like this. I only have this one symptom here! I constantly feel like I have to urinate! It never goes away. I have no pain or burning. My urologist and gynocologist have done all kinds of tests, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with me. I am starting to believe that it's all in my head. My family members just bought me some alternative medicine from over seas. It is some special teas and herbs that apparently have helped many women with this problem. It is only for those who don't have anything wrong with them, except the fact that they feel like urinating constantly. I am anxiously awaiting to start this theraphy...and if it helps me...I will be sure to tell you all about it!

Re:Always Have to Urinate - nicole - Kingston, Jamaica  [nicofrancis@yahoo.com]
I seem to be having this constant urge to urinate. This happen after giving birth to my second son, 3 yrs ago. It comes and goes. This time it's here with a vengeance and doesn't seem to want to go away. I've done all the test that you can think of that causes frequent urination and they all came bk ok. Now i'm on detrusitol for overactive bladder. Well after 2 weeks of taking them, I am finding some kind of relief. Still have 1 1/2 more month on the meds. So i'm just waiting to see if after taking meds, if it will go away for good. I however, think i have Interstial Cystitis. I will need to do a cystocopy test if the meds fail to cease the urgency. Are there any natural products that can be taken to help with IC that really works.

Re:Always Have to Urinate - A -   [needhelp93@gmail.com]
so. ive been reading this blog/page for a while now. but i wasn't sure if i should post anything or not. as i am really embarrassed by this problem. but im just sick of this and i want 2 figure out a way to get rid of it. my story: ive been dealing with this problem for about to years now. (uhg. way to long in my opinion.) this so called "problem" is the feeling of ways having to urinate. but not always having to actually "go". for me this problem is made worse when i have 2 go in public place. (pretty much anytime i leave my house) for me when i go out in public my time frame for my feeling i have to urinate is anywhere from 20 minutes to about an hour (although recently i was able to make it for 2 hours). ive been to the doctor several times. they ran many tests and i came up clean. the best my doctor could figure was that i was dealing with some kinda of anxiety thing. and recommended a psychiatrist. so i went to one. the first one made me feel great, as though after our sessions "i could go out and climb a mountain" (as i put it), but there was some conflict. and i didn't feel like she under stood me. so i went to another one. and unfortunately i didn't have the same experience of feeling great. but i felt she understood me. and indeed. it turned out that the urge to have to urinate can be cause by anxiety. so i have been seeing this psychiatrist for a while now but i no longer feel like its helping me in anyway. ive also tried a bladder infection medicine. and some what needless to say it didn't help. im getting real fed up by this, as it has impacted the things i do greatly, and am looking for some answers or help.

Re:Always Have to Urinate - Connie -
I am 25 and I have been diagnosed With IC. 5 years ago, they though i had IBS. the cramping and blah blah blah. Then came the urge to pee every five minutes. Then i started getting this irritating feeling after urinated mixed with the urge and the need to urinate and nothing came. I thought i had a UTI, but it was clean. anyway the doctor said it sounded as though i was having something similar to a bladder spasm associated with IC. Elmiron doesn't really do much for me. actually not to be a bummer, but nothing does. you need to change your diet. Nothing but water, and no acidys foods. meaning no fruit. lean meats. Veg. Nothing with caffine including chocolate. if you are in pain then they can put a cathiter in to relieve pain temp.

Re:Always Have to Urinate - Joanne - Gateshead  [josas24@yahho.co.uk]
Hi everyone, i can totally epathise with the above problem, i could go upto 25 times through my working day. The problem is, you have a water infection and waht worked for me was drinking cup fulls of water until i couldn't drink any more. You also need a course of antibiotics and you can also go to your local chemist and get some citrus powders which does something with the alkili in your body. Also avoid caffine, alcohol and spicy foods.

Re:Always Have to Urinate - Jessica -   [jessica_19_1@hotmail.com]
hi, im 19 years old and i seem to be experiencing the same symptoms as everyone else. Its extremely annoying to try to relax when you constantly feel the need to pee. Im especially scared that I might be pregnant, but I take my birth control precisely and there is little chance that I could be. I went to the doctor this morning to see what was wrong, but she said everything was fine, and told me to drink lots of fluids and cranberry juice in case it is a UTI. If anyone has any answers, please let me know. thanks

Just wanted to let you all know: My 22 year old daughter was suffering the same exact thing as you and after $7,000 in medical visits, tests, procedures and medicine with no help for her symptoms, I researched and came up with the following which she takes twice a day: 1 calcium magnesium zinc/ acidophilis/1 vitamin/1 digestive enzyme/1 amino acid formula/ 1 GABA(anti-anxiety) Take these twice a day and a multivitamin once. The first day she took this regimen she was "50%" better. The second day she felt great and texted me "I feel wonderful! Thank you, Thank you, Thank You! Give it a try. It may help!

Re:Always Have to Urinate - Someone -
I don't know when this was posted but I found this from Google. I'm kind of glad I'm not the only one that's suffering from this. It's been nearly 5 months since I've started having the urge to go pee every few minutes. I'm fine at home but once I step out of my house or think about how I have to go somewhere soon will start the urge. I think it's also the "anxiety" thing.. and worrying that there's going to be no washrooms around and I'm going to pee myself. And I have quite a small bladder as well. But when I do go washroom I don't really have a lot to pee out. Also, I'm only 18!! The frequency of wanting to pee is stopping me from doing SOOO many things, I feel so desperate for a cure but I went doctors hoping I only had a UTI but I was tested negative. I envy my friends who don't need to go washroom at all through the entire school day.. I hope there's some cure thing for this soon, it's causing me to stress out really bad.

Re:Always Have to Urinate - Charlotte - UK
I am also suffering from this problem and after having read the symptoms of Cystitis I think it could be due to that. It is not nice to go through especially as everytime you're out having a drink with you're boyfriend you feel the need to pee and you sit there wiggling, so evenutally you have to go and find out hardly anything comes out. It's not a good experience. I have found that during sex I don't have a problem with it as I was worried I would have to jump off and rush to the toilet. I don't believe it's because I'm pregnant either because I had unprotected sex less than 3 days ago and I doubt it would happen that quickly. I would suggest where baggy trousers if possible and go to the chemists if you haven't already.

Re:Always Have to Urinate - Jenny Blaxland - uk  [jennyblaxland@hotmail.co.uk]
I have been suffering with this also and my doctor has now suggested in might be to do with the bowel being inflammed and causing pressure on the bladder. she put me on medication for diarrhea and it has helped. i definately suggest you try it as it does help make you more comfortable.

Re:Always Have to Urinate - Bill - UK
I had a problem with having the urge to pee constantly for about 5 years. I have also suffered from anxiety all my life. I think in th e majority of the cases above where the person has a history of anxiety then this could very likely be psychological. I am beginning to think I had some form of OCD where I was obsessing about needing to pee incase I peed myself in public. I think the trick is to train your mind to think of something else everytime you feel the need to pee. Keep holding on until you really need to urinate - remember what that feeling is like because that is what it feels like to need to pee. Perhaps you should go and see a psychologist to treat your anxiety and thought patterns.

Its so embarassing. Im at a friends house right now,and its 5am, i havent slept in 2 days because this feeling is getting so bad, i also havent been to a doctor yet, What should i do other than see a doctor, im so tired and worn out, and this feeling is unconfortable and CONTROLLING MY LIFE!! I am 22 years old and have been suffering from this for 13 years. I have this urge to urinate and I go and a little comes out. I get up from the toilet and feels like I have to go again. Sometimes I will sleep it off and get up and it just comes out! It comes on only when I am stressed or dehydrated. I have not went to a doc but I am because it is taking over my life for too long now.

Re:Always Have to Urinate - Joanne - UK
Hi. I'm 19 and suffer from similar symptoms. When I'm at home it's fine, I don't really feel the need to pee unless I do actually need to pee. I'm only really affected by this problem when I'm out. I'll be fine one minute and then I'll start getting the urge to pee and even although I know I don't have to pee I still feel the need to go and reassure myself that I'm not going to wet myself. When I'm at work I find myself going to the wash room every hour and a half, often more than this. If I'm on a bus or a train and surrounded by people I get really anxious and feel the need to use the toilet. I know that it's an anxiety problem I have because of the way I begin to act when I feel this urge to pee, but I don't know how to stop it. I try thinking of something else but it's really had to concentrate on anything else when you think you are desperately needing to go. I find myself fidgeting a lot because of it which I know only makes it worse because that affects your metabolism. I have decided to begin taking vitamins to lower my anxiety until I feel confident that I can stop worrying about the urge to pee. I think my anxiety is caused by a change in my routine; I recently finished university and began a new job. I've also had a change in my diet; I used to go jogging 3 times a week but I've damaged my knee so that isn't possible anymore, and due to this I haven't been eating as healthy as I usually do. So what I'm trying to say is that this problem could be caused by a change in your routine too or diet too.

Hallo! I am 16 years old, soon to be 17 in a month, all the sudden on January 28 at around 9am I had a urgent feeling to go so I did. When I layed down I felt like I had to go again and again and again. But when I go none to only a little comes out. So I thought it was all in my head and tried to go to sleep but couldn't because of it. I've been having the feeling all day and can hold it/ignore through out the day until I wanna sleep cause than it's like THERE and I can't sleep because of it and I'm scared. It's not UTI becuase I've had it before when I was younger and know the syptoms. I'm scared to tell my mom but after looking my problem up people have been saying they've delt with it for years and have had tons of tests with no answers. I DON'T WANNA DEAL WITH IT FOR YEARS! Please if anyone can give any kind of information on what to do please email me! I don't have anxiety and it's not all in my head.

Re:Always Have to Urinate - Nancy - Norwich
I have had this problem for three years. It started when I had a bad case of UTI. Ever since then I've needed to urinate all the time, day and night. But after some years I managed to control it and retrain my brain. Its still bad at night because at night you worry about things and the fear of needing to pee is constantly in your mind. It isn't just anxiety. Its habit. People get into it. Their brain thinks its normal to urinate that much. You need to think of other things to do. Before bed drink a glass of warm water sprinkled with cinamon. It really helps you drift off. Good luck!

Hi, I have been dealing with the same problem for about 3 weeks now. I went in for a UTI test and it came back clean. Its seriously driving me CRAZY!! Back in November I had a yeast and blatter infection and got treatments then , after about week i started feeling this AWFUL PRESSURE but yet i really dont have to use the bathroom , I usually can hold it but.. have discomfort from thinking of having to go i toss and turn when I'm sitting down trying to find a comfortable way to sit the hopefully will make the urgency stop. The only thing that kind of give me relief is drinking generous amount of water, but yet when i drink all that water i pee and pee and pee and evenutally feel relief for about a couple hours..i really have no clue what could be causing this I've not gone in to the doctor besides for the UTI test, and at my last gyno check up I mentioned I frequently have to pee cause before i really had to pee ALOT but i didnt have the urge 247 i just had to pee more than the average person and she thought it could be diabetes but i got tested and the result came back clean, so besides that ive not had any other test. ALL I KNOW IS I NEED TO FIND SOMTHING TO GIVE ME RELIEF I AM ONLY 18 YEARS OLD AND HAVE MUCH LIFE LEFT TO LIVE!!!!!!!SO ANYONE PLEASE GIVE ME SOMTHING POSITIVE !!!

Re:Always Have to Urinate - Tunisia - Virginia
I suffer from the same syndrome as all of you except I walk for about 1/2 an hour and have to haul home so I don't pee myself..this has been going on for about 2 years now, I thought maybe contributed to menopause at 45..I have also been to the doctors and have had tests done and nothing. Other than I am an older woman and have had one child they can't tell me anything other than to do the Keagels exercise. I feel for everyone here and know what you are going through. Its really terrible, take a drive in the car pee before you go, get to where you want to be and rush around to find a bathroom to pee again..it's the most terrible feeling in my life..I want relief as all of you do..I am researching holistic ways of going and will update if anyone is interested. Tunisia

Re:Always Have to Urinate - Tunisia - Virginia
Here is a website I found that I am going to try will let you all know if this works or not..attached below going the holistic way..the drugs they put you on end up making you worse off then before..with other side affects and symptoms...

Hello, I'm 17 years old, and over a day ago, i have had the urge to use the restroom every 10 minutes and when i go...nothing comes out!!! What's happening? I need some help to solve this problem. I can't take to many breaks at work ANYMORE.

Re:Always Have to Urinate - J - NSW
Ugh, this is SO frustrating! Ever since about 2 hours ago I have felt the urge to pee, CONSTANTLY. Nothing but a few drops comes out, and a bit of blood. I think it might be a UTI, but it's so uncomfortable that I can't sleep. It's like I'm going to wet myself, even straight after I have gone to the toilet!

Re:Always Have to Urinate - Jena - lex, ky  [jenakate21@att.blackberry.net]
I feel the same way as Anna. Being 22 years old, I feel as if I shouldn't be on medication for urination either. But what do I do?! Most days, I pee normally, then other days, I pee a ton. Also in between bathroom breaks, I feel like I need to pee again ( due to pressure in lower torso, vagina area) I am a virgin and am not sexual active, so I can't be that! I just want to be at ease, want to pee normally all the time and just live my life. -stumped =/

Re:Always Have to Urinate - A Person - USA
Hi everyone, first off, I don't know how old this is. I've had the same problem for a couple of years now. And I'm only 14. I've been reading this and well I'm going to try drinking more water and cranberry juice and laying off the sugary stuff. I think it might be anxiety. I have a lot on my mind all the time. Thanks for this, I thought I was the only one with this problem! But I'm not. I guess we're sorta like a family... Bye!
