Irritable Bowel Syndrom - Timothy Long - []
The first thing which it sounds like you are doing is to take the UA Kit and to be sure you are taking the best digestive enzyme formula for you. With IBS this is usually Thera-Zyme Pan, but may be Thera-Zyme HCL, both Therazyme Enzyme Formulations. Second, the formula Thera-Zyme IrB, also by Therazyme should be used, it is specific and very effective for IBS. In addition, we always use Thera-Zyme SmI, which is a very effective probiotic. It not only gives your gut the right flora, but it contains enzymes to destroy the bad bacteria, fermenting food, etc. For a while you need to be very careful about what you eat. Later on you can add back some of these foods. Avoid spicy foods, mustard, too much raw food, fruit, sugars, all kinds of sugars and junk food, too much bread, pasta, and flour products, especially wheat, dry cereals, beans, coffee, caffeine, chocalate, soda, milk and milk products, tomato, fried foods, overcooked and burned foods, butter, soy oil, canola oil, polyunsaturate oils, soy products, rice milk, fructose, sugars, and sugars! These are the main foods to avoid. Many of these foods should be avoided by everyone who is desiring better health. In my practice I have very good results helping my clients clear up IBS. Often they need to talk to me a number of times so that I can find the offending food that they are still eating, and/or fine tune their supplement program. In the rare cases that do not clear up following this basic outline, I do have a few other specific supplements to do the job. I hope this helps.

Hello. You should go to, type in the keywords "irritable bowel syndrome". You will find a link for alternative medicine. This may be helpful. Let me know if the info was useful.

Re:Irritable Bowel Syndrom - jean -
I would appreciat any info on supplements for irritable bowel. I am so frustrated with how this consumes so much of my energy.

Re:Irritable Bowel Syndrom - Timothy Long - []
This is a problem you can resolve. I have helped many others resolve this. Begin with eliminating foods that irritate your intestine. Be sure you are eating good sources of protein. Use digestive enzymes. You most likely need Thera-Zyme Pan, due to problems with carbohydrate and sugar digestion. A probiotic is important. We use Delpro, Premier Probiotic Caps, or Thera-Zyme SmI. And there is a Thera-Zyme IrB specifically for irritable bowel. Overall you need to avoid what is commonly called junk food and sugars. You will have your best success if you work closely with a health professional who is familiar with this problem.

Re:Irritable Bowel Syndrom - Cherie - MO
I have had problems with constipation for over 15 years. About 5 years ago, I began having extreme pain in my abdomen. I was admitted into the hospital. Several specialists could not agree on the cause. One wanted to remove part of my colon. Another concluded that I was suffering from paratinitus. I do not remember much about the first couple of days in the hospital. Luckily my husband was there and agreed with one of the doctors to wait for a few days to see if the regimen of intravenous antibiotics would clear up the obvious infection. It did. A colonoscopy was done and no divertiulitis was found. A gastrointestinal specialist informed me that the muscles in my colon do not work properly to move the waste. I do not eat any red meat and very little meat at all. I tried following the doctor's advice eating a diet high in fiber, taking products high in fiber like Metamucil, and even some prescribed medications none of which helped. I don't eat very much food at one time. To keep my bowel movements normal I drink 48 to 64 oz of water a day (water is critical, if I don't drink enough, even the laxatives don't help) and take 3 - 4 herbal laxatives before bedtime. Should I be concerned about taking herbal laxatives on a long-term basis?

Re:Irritable Bowel Syndrom - carol - ohio
can you tell me about paratinitus,a friend was diagnosed with this , I'm worried she is very ill.

Re:Irritable Bowel Syndrom - Sylvie - Casselman
I was suffering constipation for over 33 years. Four years ago, a few months after my sister died, I have had diarrhea for almost one year. I had so much pain in the abdomen and the rectum (I had a rectal abcess). I was bloating very often. I couldn't eat either (I was suffering from a hiatal hernia as well) I lost approximately 25 pounds. I was diagnosed with an irratable bowel syndrom. I was wondering how come all this was happening to me. I read a lot of books and I arrived to the conclusion that I had to consult a naturopathe. I changed my diet drastically. I was taking a lot of medication at that time but now I feel great and I am taking medications very once in a while. Expecially if I am stressed. In my readings, I learned that it is really important to us to maintain a positive thinking since it helps to maintain a good PH. Also, for the diarrhea, I found that the acidophilus-bifidus capsules really help to reequilibrate the intestine flora. When someone is suffering from diarrhea, it is also important to take supplements (vitamin B complex for the fatigue and stress, vitamin A, vitamin E, calcium lactate to help reequilibrate the acidity (PH),...) and do a liver cure. All this may be very costly but when it comes to our car repairs, we don't ask ourselves how much this will cost. When it comes to our health, why should we ask? I really think we should take it as an investment in our health. Today, I am so happy I did. I hope the best for all of you who are suffering. Please don't look up at my english since I am not fluently bilingual.

Could someone tell me any meds that will help with abdominal pain, gas, nausea. I would be open to natural products as well.

Re:Irritable Bowel Syndrom - Timothy Long - []
IBS can be healed. Each case is a little bit different. Essential things to do are using Thera-Zyme Pan to help digest carbs, sugars, and other foods. Replenishing your flora with Thera-Zyme SmI. And avoiding the foods that are most irritating your bowel. Thera-Zyme IrB is also specifically for this problem. There is more to it though. For anyone that wants help correcting Irritable Bowel, begin by signing up for a Health Consultation. This is one problem I have had a lot of success in helping people with.

Re:Irritable Bowel Syndrom - Cathy - Orillia
I have been somewhat diagnosed with IBS. by somewhat I mean the doctor said I had it gave me my symptoms and told me to add more bran to my diet for constipation. Which isn't my problem I go infrequently, but I am not constipated. The bran added to the problem. I have abdominal cramping and bloating foods high in starch such as breads, pasta, potatoes send my guts into orbit so I try to avoid them. I drink lots of water and don't eat foods high in fat or sugars. I just had an operation for endometreosis to rule out that as part of the abdominal pain and although they found some located on the ligements behind my ovaries and burnt it off my main symptoms still persist. Do you have any suggestions it is drastically affecting my life and self esteem

Re:Irritable Bowel Syndrom - Angela - washington state
I am researching to find out what it is I need to know. In the year of 2000 I experenced a bout of stomach problems that left me wanting to double over in pain at 2 AM almost every morning. I tried gas-x thanks to my boyfriend thinking it was gas but since that didnt work, I had to try something else. I called my physician and was seen for a variety tests such as an ultra sound to look at everything, an MRI and tests to rule out an ulcer. The MRI was last in the tests and it seemed that the barium given at the time calmed things down. They said they couldnt find anything but figured it was an upset stomach...I noticed that my stomach was notting up everytime I was stressed so I moved out of his house and we broke up for 3 mos.I had to change my diet. I lived off of salmon filets, salads and non caffeine soda and I would have flare ups if I had a burger, or fries or caffiene. Pizza now is a serious no-no.(heartburn city) Now my diet is so limited. I cant even have cheese cake or fettucine alfredo. What to eat? i have been looking for a diet that actually can be full of needed nutrients that wouldnt leave me with heartburn, I have my share of that already. Milk in the morning with cereal sends me into cramping episodes and i have to eat somehow. What do you eat for breakfast and does this sound like irratable bowel syndrome. Is it brought on by stress and how come they couldnt figure it out with the tests they did? My best friend says that I have to eat bland foods. What foods?i know to avoid caffeine, fast food and ice cream but what can I eat that will not leave me hungry? I have tried eliminating meat-diarrhea again and I have tried the no carb diet to a point but they both seem too unbalanced as I have taken a nutrition class and understand the basics

HELP!!!!! I have had and still have problems with my insides for 5years. Suffering from nausea is the worst and feeling very, very tired. The other symptoms I have are constipation, gas and headaches. Sometimes I have it for a week at a time and then maybe a day. Have been to the doctors and also used alternative medicine but to no avail. The doctor said it is not food that is causing this. I am now trying acupuncture and chinese herbs, so I wait! Can anyone tell me if I have got IBS? Please help as sometimes I have been suicidal. I just do not want to have this for the rest of my life.

Take acidophilus... any good kind with a many strains in it as you can find. Take Pro Biotic Acidophilus also.. that one gets into the intestines. And lastly, take Caprylic Acid. Load up on acidophilus.. and don't skip a meal without it! It works.. give it time to heal your body!

I am at the end of my rope with this. Headaches, Ringing ear,Nausea etc.. camarascope showed hiatal hernia,,,They say no cure ! ! I do not want to be on Prevacid for the rest of my life, it makes your muscles deteriorate and bones ache. Can paratinitus cause ringing ear and jaw pain? I have found a ceral that is very good though. called Uncle Sam Ceral. It has bran and Flaxseed which is a great digestive, not too harsh. Does anyone else suffer from ringing ears and an ache in the jaw joint? It gets very bad when I have stomach flair up.

Re:Irritable Bowel Syndrom - tom - dallas
Flax SEEDS are dangerous. They can be a cramping-type laxative of intense potency. Flax OIL is o.k. Regarding the tinnitus, one cause is salicylates. Salicyates are found in aspirin, tomatoes, and yes, Pepto bismol.

Re:Irritable Bowel Syndrom - Ron - Tacoma, Washington
I'm looking for anyone's advice who has problems similar to mine. I have loose stools frequently, and have soreness in my back on the right side just below the shoulder blade. Past doctors have said this is unrelated but I'm having trouble with this. I have acid reflux and am taking medication for it. This pain in my back, which I'd describe as sort of a cramp, almost always coincides with my other symptoms. Also, another embarrassing problem I have is when I feel loose stools coming on my underwear will get wet if I don't go quite soon. It's like fluid will start to be released first. I am a coffee drinker and find that this amplifies my problems and possibly is the root of it. But what about this back issue? I've done all tests imaginable and nothing has come up other than acid reflux. Does anyone out there suffer from my syptoms?

I have this problem with my lower stomach and back down into my rectum my Doctor seems to think it could be IBS but she's not really sure but at times it feels like something is pulling my stomach inside of my body I can't seem to get a deep breath can you please help me better understand.

Re:Irritable Bowel Syndrom - Timothy Long - []
Irritable bowel, Crohn's Disease, burping, bloated stomach, constipation, diarrhea, etc, etc. means you are not digesting your food properly, and/or are eating a wrong diet. These are the main reasons. Though you most likly need to replenish your intestinal flora as well. Use one or two bottles of Thera-Zyme SmI to do this. It is an easy powder you mix into some water twice and day and drink. Each bottle lasts about 10 days. Begin by eating a balanced diet, and no junk foods. Cut out all the things you know are not good for you. Also, cut out soy, caffiene, soft drinks, and most dairy. Take a digestive enzyme with your meals. It is best to do the UA Kit (can be purchased on this site) to determine what food groups you are not digesting well. And to determine a few other important factors, such as your mineral balance, ph, etc. If you do not want to do the test, use Thera-Zyme DGST as a very good general all inclusive formula. Be sure to take it at the very start of meals. People with mostly carbohydrate/sugar problems can use Thera-Zyme Pan. If fats and protiens give you more problems, use Thera-Zyme HCL.

Re:Irritable Bowel Syndrom - Joanne - Tempe
I do not know what is wrong with me. My stomach is swelling and my intestines seem to be distending (stretching sensation). It seems that I have pain on the left side above my hip bone. Black dots are in my urine. Movement in my intestines. Foamy urine. Chills. Bladder cramping. Feels like I have acid reflux, buzzing my ears when all this stuff is active. I have been healthy all my life until now. I am an active fiber eater for the last ten years? Have gone through divorce stress for the last year and half, moved, new job, divorce, all that junk. My doctor appt is tomorrow, I hope they can find out what is wrong. I don't feel bad, I don't have diahrrea. ???

Re:Irritable Bowel Syndrom - Robin - Tuscaloosa
For years I have hurt with extreme pain in my lower abodome, I have been in for every test that you can imagine, I had a partial hyster. and after the pain still presits to complicate my life, I was sent to a GI doctor that says I have IBS... He does not listen to me, he has me on sleeping pill to make sure I get plenty of rest and prescribed a pain pill for my pain. The pain is so extreme that it complicates my life at home and work. It starts in my lower right side (around the overies) and goes down into my right leg where it hurts to breath and move. I have been sent home (driven home) by my fellow workers and had my family members to come get me in some case. In saying all that I do have a question, If I have IBS would that cause pain during and after being intimate with my husband? I am out of options, I would like very much to have some kind of info. I eat high fiber per "my doctor" and take benifiber.. can someone give me some clue in which way I need to go???

Re:Irritable Bowel Syndrom - Timothy Long - []
For IBS read my posts above. Best products are Thera-Zyme Irb, Thera-Zyme Pan and Thera-Zyme SmI. These are essential. Also, see Premier AloePro and Premier AloeDetox . IBS can be cleared up. Understanding correct diet and preparation of foods is very important. Consulting and health professional for individual advice is highly recommended.

Re:Irritable Bowel Syndrom - Donna- Citrus Heights, CA
I have had an irritable bowel for many years. It was orginally dianosed as a spastic colon. I have had bad bouts with diahrea, and have had bad bouts with constipation. Currently, I have been suffering from severe chronic constipation. Sometimes, it takes three laxatives to make me go. Right away I get constipated again. I suffer from extreme fatique. I have found some help from Therazyme sml, but I also need to take a lot of fish oil. I have benefitted also from yogurt which has been processed for 24 hours. I take 3 decongestant a day plus I take naprosyn for arthristis and fibromyalgia. I also take protonix for acid reflux. If I take antiacid, I immediately get constipated. I use to be able to take them and get relief. I also have found that I am allergic to milk products, corn products, and malted barley flour. I need to stay away from spicy food, carbonated beverages, and alcohol. I am glad I have found this web site.

Re:Irritable Bowel Syndrom - RM -
Please go to , it is free. i have only been following its diet, and taking the products for a few days and i can see a huge difference. read the testimonials! i cannot thank this website enough. not only does it tell you what to eat and what not to eat, it tells you WHY. it is very detailed. i ordered the acenacia powder, which is a certain fibre that you need. you just put it on your food or in your drink a couple of times a day and it literally has stopped all symptoms. (while also following the diet). Yesterday I ate a egg white scrambled sandwhich, a piece of smoked salmon, potatoe chips, oatmeal, french bread with ranch, and angel food cake and not one single symptom!!!

Re:Irritable Bowel Syndrom - kimber - ms
i've had pain in my lower body..from front to back and even down my legs. my cycles were very heavy and long. i keep heartburn all the time and an internal specialist told me to see my gyn. he did a scope to confirm what he expressed as a slight case of endometreous to be my problem disturbing my digestive system. after the scope he revealed to my family that i had a severe case of endometreous that has fused to all of my organs and a glue like substance that has filled my ovaries and is acting as a glue that is pulling all of my organs together and fusing them into one. my colon has been slowly deteriating and part or all of it has to be removed before he deals with the fusing organs and endometreosis. i will have to have all my reproductive organs removed also. what quality of life can i expect if i have this surgery? how long can i survive without it. three weeks ago i turned 30 years old...i have to young boys. life is...crappy.

Hi I have been reading some of the comments on the Natural health information and notice your advice for a diet for IBS. I have suffered for many years and have in the last couple of months tried a detection diet to find out what I might be intolerant to! Not much luck as I get very bad sugar cravings and find I've been eating sugar free sweets etc, any ideas as this is not a good idea apparently!! Also I have been substituting milk with soya milk and notice you advise to cut this out as well, any suggestions on an alternative would be greatly appreciated. I already take probiotics but will also try the enzyme supplements suggested, thanks. Please help with these other questions if possible, as I am really struggling with this.

Re:Irritable Bowel Syndrom - Heather - US
IBS is often caused by problems with the whole digestive system. I had constipation and digetstive issues in my early to late teens, then developed bulimia. After 16 years of trying everything, I finally tried a step-by-step eating plan which healed IBS & bulimia on day one. Sounds like a miracle & it was. My whole life changed. I am pain free and very healthy now. I write about it in my blog: I address IBS, The Body Ecology Diet and many other issues related to eating disorders, binge eating & digestive distress. I hope this helps people with questions about terrible digestive distress that does not seem to be responding to anything.

Re:Irritable Bowel Syndrom - James - GA
I feel so fustrated. I am 25yrs old. About 6 months ago I started becoming very irregular. I could go 3-4 days without a bowel movement. This symptom continued, but about a month later I began to belch 100 times a day. Then as a belched I would get heart burn. Sometimes i'd get it without the belching. A month after that, it feels that I cannot get a deep satisfying breath or a good yawn. Its like something is cutting it off in mid breath. I dont have asthma and I have been given an upper GI scan with no signs of GERD. I am on a laxative, but sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. I am on protonix, and although the heartburn has stopped the belching, constipation, and breathing problems continue. There is bloating as well. I am also beginning to feel very fatigued. I have heard of H. Pylori and took antibotics but symptoms continue. I dont know what it can be. Can anyone help me cause my doctor seems to be stumped.

I have IBS and I don't know what foods to eat, especially breakfast. My problem is I get very bad watery & loose bowels. I don't have a gallbladder that has been removed since 2001. I also have what's called a fatty liver I found out last year during my check up. I had always noticed this problem though more during my menustral cycle & no doctor could tell me what it was,now we know. I'm also stressed because I lost my job December 2005 and that has just added to my IBS. My doctor has given me some medication to take while I'm out in public eating, it worked for 50 min. So I know to avoid fatty & fried foods but what about dairy, etc or shoud it be vegetables for the rest of my life?
