Painful Acne Blisters

Painful Acne Blisters - Steve -
I'm 26 years old and I went to the doctor recently for problems with adult acne. The type of acne I'm having is like little blisters of fluid trapped in them and when ruptured they burn very badly. They don't have a whitehead to them or anything to that effect, but they are definitely noticeable when I get them. I tend to MOSTLY get them on my scalp and on the sides of my face...and occasionally can get them ANYWHERE on my body, especially lower back/buttocks region. The doctor stated that I get this type of acne because of a hormonal imbalance I have. Is there any means of finding out what hormone is out of balance and if so, what I can do to correct this problem?. I've heard that hormonal problems can be tricky to work with..is this true?. Thanks Dr. Long..

Dear Steve, Acne, and hormonal problems, almost always lead us back to the thyroid. Beware, blood tests are not an accurate way to check your thyroid function. Read up on the Thyroid in my Library on this site. This will lead you to a real solution. If you need my help, I am available to you. Though, once again I must point out, I am not a doctor. I am a traditional naturopath/alternative health practicioner. All the best, Timothy Long

Hi, I am 43 yrs old and I have had acne since I was 10 yrs old, it is mostly on my face, sides, near mouth, I now get them on my jaw line, and neck, they are swollen and very very painful, they stay for days, never really go away, seems they come back in the same spots, have been to Drs over the years for this, seems I have tried everything, maybe 1 week out of the month my face doesn't have red, swollen lumps that look awful and ache. I don't know what to do but being almost 44 I am so sick and tired of this, no acne anywhere else always on my face, now jawline and neck, what else is there to do? Paula

Paula - I get the same problem! (have had spots since age 9 - am now 29). I have tried all dietary methods, Oxysept, tea tree oil, etc. and nothing appears to work except avoiding chocolate (mucks up hormones big-time because of the caffeine) and dried fruit (concentrated sugars). Olbas Pastilles and Fisherman's Friends, whilst soothing my current cough, are proving a problem due to their high concentration of essential oils. Also, alcohol = v. bad for skin - gives that "grey" look in the morning! Moderation in diet - i.e. eating v.v. bland foods, grains and beans, fruit and vegetables, and avoiding concentrated or spicy foods - is therefore helpful, as well as frequent exercise. Savlon is quite good at healing skin but not recommended for long-term use. Usually I use a light-ish make-up, such as L'Oreal Translucide, and style hair to cover my spots. I also sleep on my back, with my face clear of the bedclothes and not touching the pillow (yes, bedclothes touching one's face CAN cause spots!). Perhaps try to use a light, creamy cleanser, i.e. Garnier Synergie cleanser with Extract of Rose for face and eyes and moisturiser such as Pond's Light Day Cream - though I am seriously thinking of trying Eve Lom's oil-based cleanser as I've heard it can work wonders on problem skin - and apparently 1 pot, though expensive (about £25), lasts you about 6 months. Good luck! AriesTiger

Do you recommend taking milk thistle to help in clearing skin. If the liver is healthy would that help my skin clear. If not, what would you recommend? I get the hormonal related pimples...the big painful cyst like ones...always at the same spots...how do I relieve the pressure that they cause against my skin. I feel like popping them to release some of the pressure. Some advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Angela

I've had acne since puberty, I'm now 30. For the last 3 months I've been using 3% hydrogen peroxide on my face and neck. Apply it with a cotton pad all over except for near the eyes and hair. If contact with hair,it will bleach after a few uses. There's a bit of a stinging sensation but nothing much. I've never had skin so clear, it's almost completely clear. I use it every night if I can and in the morning too if I'm not going out as it can redden the skin a bit. Also keep yur hands away from you face and kneck as much as you can. You can get hydrogen peroxide from the drugstore / chemist. Don't generally use anything stronger than 3.5% however, I've used 17.5% on stubborn ones, don't do this if you're going out cuz it will make the spot go white as it kills the bacteria. Hope that helps, good luck.

I have been sufferent from acne for years and am sick of it. I have taken a more natural approach and refused to take any presecription meds. I was my face with a natural soap and that has helped a lot. I know high quantities of sugar triggers my outbreaks and need to get to the point where I am disciplined enough to cut the sugar out of my diet. I just wanted to know if anyone else has had experience with using Hydrogen peroxide as a toner and if there are any negactive effects in doing so? I have very oily skin and would like to use something like that to disinfect my skin without overdrying it or causing any damage. Thanks for your help :)

I'm about to be 30 and I get painful blisters on my face. When they rupture, or I rupture them, they leave behind a sore which heals slowly. I've tried every acne medicine and my diet is clean so I don't know what else to try.

Have any of you tried to use sea salt soap? I have Terrible eczema and acne all over my body and I finally tried using the sea salt soap, and let me tell you what that stuff is sooooo awesome. You can get it at your local health food store.

Re:Painful Acne Blisters - A. -
A liver cleanse is key.
www.renewlife.ca has a great liver cleanse and it cleared my acne which I have had for almost 10 years now. The Candida cleanse may help you too. Have any of you heard of the Wai Diet? I tried this diet last year, and it cleared my skin COMPLETELY, but it was a little hard for me to stay on. Its a diet that consists of only eating raw fruit, raw nuts, a tomato, cucumber, avacado, chive salad with pure olive oil drizzled on it. It is a WONDER DIET. If you ever want to clear your skin forever, I PROMISE this works. It's not that easy at the beginning, but once you get going, it gets easier and easier to avoid bad foods and you even lose your taste for them! I think this diet works similar to the liver cleanse/colon cleanse because they are all foods which aid with digestion and cleaning out the bloodstream. Here is the site for the diet: www.http://waisays.com/AcneSampleDiet.htm

I second the reccomendation for hydrogen peroxide. This stuff is amazing! I cna't believe that something so cheap and easy to use works better than all that expensive stuff. Just swab the areas that get acne 2x a day. Make sure you do your whole face and jawline (and neck, if needed) not just the areas that are currently broken out. It is brilliant.

Re:Painful Acne Blisters - M - USA
Check out the possibility of nano-insects! They are more common than we think, and persistant weird acne/bumps is a good sign they're there. Try borax (the laundry 20 mule type) mixed with hydrogen peroxide (1 T borax, 2 T peroxide and 4 T water). Lavendar essential oil also works. So do products with borax or boric acid in them (the borax kills them for some reason). I found a lot of help on earthclinic.com, which is where I learned about the borax. You can look up folliculitis (or even mange--same sort of nasty little bug) for some information. It takes a long time to kill these boogers, but they will die eventually.

I have these bumps that seem like pimples. Same spots on my face. I try to lightly pop them and then they just turn into this massive sore that hurts. sometimes I don't touch them at all and they still do the same thing, my husband thinks there are cancer. This scares me because I have had a lot of sun damage and cancer runs in my family. Could this be something else. Any suggestions

Im 20 years old and I have these little blister like thingies on my lower back especially and some on my buttocks. What could this be a result of and how do I treat them to go away.

Re:Painful Acne Blisters - robyn -   [robyn_oconnell@yahoo.com]
Those blisters are acne cysts. Unlike whiteheads they are multiple spots of infection under the skin. I have been on Retin-A for a year and after the first 3 months they went away. I still get a little hard bump once in a while but they heal fast and never get red and angry looking any more. I had to suffer with horrble breakouts the first few weeks but now my skin is so clear and the old marks from the cysts have faded like crazy.

Re:Painful Acne Blisters - JAde -   [jadeemily@aol.com]
I have three of these things on my chin as we speak and no matter what i've tried, they've stayed! Went to the doc and he has given me anbibiotics which seem to be hleping so far. i think depending on the severity there are different things you can use. tea tree oil is good, and as hard as it is (because i am the worst culprit)the key thing is not to squeeze! especially if there is not head on the spot because the infection will spread under the skin.... hence the mountains on my face now. Don't do it peeps! Leave them, don't touch them and they will go away on their own i swear.

I don't have bad acne but, I recently got two huge pimples on my face. I would have liked for them to go away within a few days before my big trip so, I used hydrogen peroxide and it seemed to make the two pimples shrink. The problem now is i have bumps all over my forehead and nose. The first day they were itchy but, they aren't now. Now, they are dry and they aren't red but, they are noticeable. I'd like for them to be gone within the next week or so because school is starting. What should I do?
