WHAT IS IT?
Chela: [Gr. chele, a claw] Claw possessed by a crab or lobster.
Chelator: Possessing claws, physical or chemical.
Chelation Therapy: (pronounced
key-lay-shun) Injecting safe, effective agents into the bloodstream of the body, which posses the ability to "claw out" or chemically bond to (and cause the elimination of) certain undesirable elements. These elements include heavy metals, chemical toxins, mineral deposits, and fatty plaques. Chelation Therapy has been used successfully for over 40 years to treat cardiovascular disease and heavy metal poisoning.
WHAT IS ORAL CHELATION?
Oral Chelation: Oral nutritional food supplements which contain chelating agents, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, phytonutrients, and herbs. These products have been shown in human chemistry studies to be effective, affordable, and convenient to use. Current evidence indicates that chelation therapy, intravenous or oral, can control, cardiovascular disease and heavy metal poisoning and may control and/or reverse the signs and symptoms of numerous health conditions which until now have required drug or surgical intervention or were considered irreversible or terminal.
HOW DOES CHELATION WORK?
Chelation helps to remove heavy metals from the body's tissues. These metals come from a number of sources including dental materials and mercury amalgam fillings and numerous environmental and occupational exposures (lead in paint and tap water, industrial metalworking). Metals can cause free radical damage in the body, and this damage can lead to:
* Cardiovascular Disease; arteriosclerosis and atherosclerosis (blood vessels hardening and blockage), and other related heart diseases:
Cardiovascular disease is the #1 reported killer in the United States.
* Cancer: Cancer is the #2, with one third of Americans developing some form of cancer in their lifetime.
* Autoimmune disease, arthritis, and other degenerative diseases.
* Fatigue and difficulty concentrating, particularly from heavy metals such as lead, mercury, and cadmium.
* Leg cramps, circulatory disorders, cold hands and feet.
Metals can also change the blood pH (acid/base balance), and if people are deficient in the nutrient calcium, the body mobilizes calcium from the bones to use it as a buffer to get the body's fluids back to their normal pH. The end result of this constant removal of calcium from the bones is osteoporosis (loss of bone density leading to brittle bones), so chelation can be beneficial in curtailing this process also.
EDTA is one of the most effective chelators. EDTA is a synthetic amino acid. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins in the body. It was first introduced into medicine in the United States in 1948 as a treatment for industrial workers suffering from lead poisoning in a battery factory. Shortly thereafter, the U.S. Navy advocated chelation therapy for sailors who absorbed lead while painting government ships and other facilities. Physicians noted that those adults receiving chelation treatments for lead toxicity who also had atherosclerosis (fatty plaques which clog the arteries) experienced health improvements, diminishing angina, and better memory.
Chelation with EDTA and other chelators have been used to reduce calcium plaquing on the insides of arteries. This plaquing narrows the blood vessels, possibly leading to a heart attack in time if blood flow is sufficiently reduced. Chelation's action is two-fold: it directly removes the excess of calcium from the arteries, and it removes heavy metals such as mercury from dental amalgam fillings, cadmium from cigarettes, and lead from tap water and gasoline, from the body. These metals set up conditions which lead to inflammation in the affected arteries and tissues, causing calcium to be drawn to the area as a buffer. The calcium coats the inflamed areas in the blood vessels like a bandage, patching up one problem but creating another, namely the hardening of the artery walls and progressive obstruction (blockage) of the arteries.
Chelation therapy assists in removing obstructions from the arteries by flushing fatty and mineral plaques out of your body, often preventing heart attacks.
Over the years these plaques buildups become encrusted and caked against the inside of the veins and artery walls. Unfortunately, they aren't exclusive only to arteries near the heart. On the contrary, they are wide-spread, and can affect blood flow (oxygen delivery) to the entire 75,000 miles of blood vessels in your body. Affected are your kidneys, brain, and memory, eye sight, sexual organs, feet, legs, hands, heart, lungs, increased blood pressure, diabetes and diseases in other glands and organs. That's why bypass surgery, despite its glorified image, is really only a temporary fix. It only bypasses the problem! If something isn't done to fix the problem, your arteries clog up again, and within 7 to 10 years, you're back in for another heart bypass or worse yet, a fatal heart attack!
Chelation treatment has been successfully applied in heavy metal poisoning, chemical poisoning, arteriosclerosis and atherosclerosis, and it also has been found useful in reducing the symptoms and signs (and in some cases can completely reverse) the following conditions: myocardial and coronary insufficiency (lack of oxygen to the heart), cerebral arteriosclerosis (lack of oxygen to the brain), Alzheimer's disease, senile dementia, rheumatoid; osteo; and gouty arthritis, calcific tendonitis and bursitis, kidney stones, gallbladder stones, various autoimmune conditions, Parkinson's disease, Lou Gehrig's disease, cataracts, glaucoma, cancer, osteoporosis, varicose veins, hypertension, scleroderma, heart arrhythmias, heart valve calcification, peripheral vascular insufficiency (cold hands and feet), intermittent claudication (muscle pain upon walking), aortic calcinosis, aneurysm, stoke, diabetes, diabetic ulcers, diabetic gangrene, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, emphysema, leg ulcers, venomous snake bite, and any other condition where the problem is an interruption in blood flow and diminished oxygen delivery due to hardening of the arterial wall or fatty plaque formation, sluggish parathyroid glands (which normally regulate calcium metabolism), arterial spasm due to excessive calcium ion concentration, or deficient collateral circulation.
Chelation benefits the heart and every blood vessel in the body, from the largest artery to the tiniest capillaries and arterioles, most of which are far too small for surgical treatment or are deep within the brain and other vital organs where they cannot be safely reached by surgery. In many patients, the smallest blood vessels are the most severely diseased. The benefits of chelation occur from the top of the head to the bottom of the feet, not just in short segments of a few large arteries.
The ten biggest killers of Americans (in the order of frequency) include heart disease, cancer, stroke, accidents, pneumonia, diabetes, cirrhosis, arteriosclerosis, suicides, and infant death (all but accidents, pneumonia, suicides, and infant death) have an underlying connection to reduced blood circulation. Ninety-five percent of us live in jeopardy of having a serious illness relating to the circulatory system.
DISEASES RELATED TO
More than seven million Americans have been diagnosed with coronary heart disease. Countless other Americans are living with signs and symptoms of progressive heart disease but have not been diagnosed. More than 1.5 million people in American will have a heart attack this year. Approximately thirty percent of these people will die immediately or before they can reach medical treatment. With regards to other related cardiovascular diseases, approximately three million Americans have some form of arterial blockage in the brain, over ten million Americans have irregular heartbeat, and approximately thirty million Americans suffer from hypertension (high blood pressure).
Every minute in America, approximately one quarter of a million dollars is spent treating cardiovascular diseases. This adds up to over one hundred BILLION dollars per year spent on conventional medical treatments.
If you have been diagnosed with coronary heart disease or other serious related conditions it is recommended you see a medical doctor who has been trained and certified in intravenous (I.V.) chelation. This doctor can perform screening tests to determine the degree of arterial blockage and recommend the initial number of I.V. chelation treatments needed.
LEAD POISONING AND CHILDREN
A federal study completed in 1982 revealed that four percent preschool children had an unacceptably high level of lead in their blood (reported estimates range from 1.7 to 4.0 million children). Lead is a know neurotoxin (kills brain cells), and excessive blood lead levels in children has been linked to learning disabilities, attention deficit disorders, and hyperactivity syndromes. The problem was found to persist in the drinking water from any water system installed before the late 1960's (found in homes, schools, government buildings), middle-class suburban and inner-city poor neighborhoods due to lead paint residue, and living in close proximity to industrial areas and sources of toxic chemical exposure. The only way that lead (and other chemical toxins) is effectively removed from a child's body is by chelation therapy.
ORAL CHELATION &
The number one reported cause of death of American men and women is Cardiovascular disease. Approximately 3,000 adults die daily from these heart-related diseases. Yet, there now exists today a non-surgical, 100% safe and painless natural therapy, that can prevent or reverse heart disease and advanced hardening of the arteries- Oral Chelation!
Oral Chelation Therapy fixes the problem by rejuvenating your entire cardiovascular system. These natural products detoxify your body and allow your veins and arteries to open up, improving the efficiency of your tissues, glands, organs, and interrelated systems by allowing them all the oxygen rich blood they were designed to receive.
Taken on a daily basis, oral chelation will remove the fats, collagen, dead cells, cholesterol and other debris cemented together with calcium that is clogging up your veins and arteries -- Virtually cleaning all 75,000 miles that make up your cardiovascular system.
Oral chelation is much slower acting, because only about 4 to 18% of an oral dose gets absorbed (compared with 100% of an I.V.dose). If you are not in a hurry and want to prevent the before- mentioned health conditions, oral EDTA has all the benefits of I.V. EDTA infusions. Taken on a daily basis, oral chelation will gradually do what I.V. chelation does -with two major benefits- oral chelation is much less expensive per month than I.V. chelation, and is very convenient. In fact, you can take oral chelation with you wherever you go.
Numerous studies continue to prove how chelation therapy can be beneficial to many people who are suffering from degenerative health conditions and being offered drugs or surgery to control their symptoms. The number of physicians who are available to diagnose and treat advanced health conditions and administer intravenous chelation continues to grow. With the arrival of effective oral chelation products, chelation therapy has now become effective, affordable, and convenient.
